صحف نت - The city of Marib which once hosted al-Qaeda militants has now turned into a safe destination for tourists and Yemeni intellectuals, activists and ordinary civilians escaping the Houthi crackdown in north Yemen.
The Saudi daily Okaz published a feature on the matter saying that while conflict is going on in Yemen, but in this stable city one can hear drilling rigs and the noise of earth moving vehicles in different parts of the city.
Several US and European newspapers have sent their editors to Yemen, noticed this and wrote something to this effect.
"As yemen crumbles, one town is an island of relative calm," read the headline of a New York Times piece on Marib. "In a Devastated Country, One City Is Thriving," read a headline in Spiegel Online.
